KUDOS! I bet no other government would have acted on a war-footing basis as Modi's govt. Three major transmission lines restored and delivered before the committed dates, is a feat in itself. Action taken to tackle Power Crisis in Delhi :
1) Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) was directed to take up permanent restoration of 220kV Gopalpur-Mandola, Bamnauli-Papankalan and Bawana-Rohini lines, on behalf of Delhi Transco Limited
2) NTPC allocated gas from other stations to Bawana power plant to enable Delhi to have additional generation of 400 MW from it. Delhi utilized this for 3 days. Thereafter due to low demand the same has been kept on reserve and can generate additional power as and when Delhi requires.
3) Repairing of Pragati gas based plant was also taken up on priority by BHEL after the meeting of the Union Minister on 10.6.2014. One additional gas turbine and one steam turbine has already been synchronized after repair at GT power station of Pragati Power Corporation Ltd. which has led to additional generation of 50MW of power for Delhi. The work on another gas turbine unit has also been completed and presently is running on no load and is likely to come on the bar by tomorrow (17.6.2014).
