Milestone #1 : "100 smart cities, affordable housing, low home loan interest rate" - Venkaiah Naidu
The urban development minister, Venkaiah Naidu, in a press conference stated that top priority for his ministry would be to:
Bring back home loan interest rate to around 7% from existing 10%+
Build 100 smart cities to accommodate the every increasing urban population
Provide housing for all by 2022 with a PPP model
Milestone #2 : Speeding up things; GoMs and EGoMs dismantled
GoM = Group of Ministers
EGoM = Empowered Group of Ministers
GoMs and EGoMs are panels constituted by the government to overlook important decisions when the Ministries themselves were unable to sort things out. This is a redundant level in the decision-making hierarchy and has resulted in unwarranted delays and backlogs.
In other good news #3 : Expert Panel headed by E. Sreedharan to advise Railways.
The Railway Ministry is planning on rapid modernisation and expansion and is trying to rope in none other than the Metro man - Mr. E. Sreedharan to head the expert committee regarding the same.

For the first time in the history of Independent India, a new Ministry of Entrepreneurship has been created which will help to produce more entrepreneurs and business men in India. #sarbananda sonowal
